Just north of the nation’s capital, hip and historic Frederick, Maryland boasts a wide variety of fun experiences. Suggested Itinerary
Day One
Explore the boutique shops, one of a kind restaurants and fascinating sites of Historic Downtown Frederick. Listen and learn while you taste your way through area’s storied past and modern local culture with on a Taste Frederick Food Tour. The tour will take you through picturesque Carroll Creek Park, an urban park built around a beautiful water way that is home to colorful lilies in the summer and lighted boats in the winter. 

Rent a Pedego Electric Bike and make your way into the countryside to enjoy the scenery of Frederick’s covered bridges on a self-guided tour. Make your way back to the city and finish your day at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine where you will discover the story of healing and caring for the wounded during some of the bloodiest battles. 

Day Two
Rise with the sun and climb to the top of Chimney Rock in Catoctin Mountain Park for a truly stunning view over Frederick’s tallest trees. Reward yourself after your hike with a tasting at Catoctin Breeze Vineyards.

Continue along one of Frederick’s National Scenic Byways until you reach the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Learn about the first American born Saint in her museum and basilica. Get dressed up and enjoy your day with a memorable culinary experience at Thacher & Rye, owned by renowned Top Chef contestant Bryan Voltaggio.
