Win a 5 night holiday to New Orleans

One of the country's oldest and most interesting cities, New Orleans is known as a culturally rich and vibrant center of fun, festivity, fine dining and history. Landmarks and historically significant architecture abound, as do sights, attractions and activities for families. Discover the restaurants, clubs and centuries-old buildings of the world-famous French Quarter and the grand homes of the Garden District. Ride a streetcar along beautiful, oak-draped St. Charles Avenue. Take the kids to the Audubon Zoo and Aquarium, visit the National World War II Museum, and stop for amazing views of paddlewheelers and freighters on the mighty Mississippi River. Take a drive south to Venice, and charter an offshore fishing boat for a day of trophy fishing on the Gulf of Mexico. Or drive just minutes out of New Orleans to Chalmette and visit the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans. Visit the area during Mardi Gras or during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival to enjoy major international events you will never forget. If you're hungry for Louisiana seafood, you won't want to miss stops along the Jefferson Parish Oyster Trail in Lafitte, Kenner, Metairie, Gretna and Harahan.

Whether this is your first time to New Orleans or you’re a seasoned visitor, the city’s infectious spirit is sure to invigorate, captivate and motivate you to jump in and see and do so much. With so many options and many things to do all the time, narrowing the playing field can be a challenge. Think of it this way: divide how much time you have by what your priorities are – history, art, music, culture, and on and on - and then add in a little time for the spontaneous joy that is the Crescent City’s calling card. Subtract a few hours for sleep, multiply your dining pleasure by at least three times a day, and you have the perfect equation for an amazing New Orleans experience.

PRIZE INCLUDES:
  • RETURN FLIGHTS WITH BRITISH AIRWAYS TO NEW ORLEANS FROM LONDON HEATHROW
  • PRIVATE RETURN AIRPORT TRANSFERS IN NEW ORLEANS

During your time in New Orleans you will be staying in one of the best and most famous of New Orleans hotels - Known as the grand dame of Royal Street, Hotel Monteleone is one of the last great family owned and operated hotels in New Orleans. Since 1886, five generations of Monteleone's have dedicated themselves to making their hotel what it was, and still is — a sparkling jewel in the heart of the French Quarter. With over a century of history, Hotel Monteleone has earned numerous awards and prestige through dedicated service and a commitment to comfort. Our historic hotel is an official literary landmark designated by the Friends of the Library Association and is a member of the Historic Hotels of America, the Preferred Hotel Group, and Associated Luxury Hotels International.

Beyond the fact that Hotel Monteleone is a legendary hideaway for some of the world’s most influential authors, it serves cocktails in one of Condé Nast Traveler’s top three Big Easy bars and offers rooms that perfectly blend old and new.

Stretch out in one of 522 elegant guestrooms, including the splendid Literary Suites, Sip a Vieux Carré cocktail at the revolving Carousel Bar & Lounge, Take a dip in the heated rooftop pool, enjoy complimentary morning yoga, or relax in the spa, Listen to live jazz as you stroll through nearby Jackson Square and the famous Bourbon Street, Eat jumbo shrimp, soft-shell crab, and snapper in a classic Creole restaurant, Criollo, Walk in the footsteps of literary greats like Ernest Hemingway, Tennessee Williams, and William Faulkner, who were frequent patrons of the Hotel Monteleone and even wrote it into some of their best-known works. Order Hemingway’s favourite at the revolving bar, which has been pouring drinks since 1949, then head to the stunning rooftop where you can relax in a heated pool or soak up breath-taking views of the Mississippi River.
